The moment Jordy Nelson got the ax in Green Bay, teams began lining up to sign the 32-year-old. According to Jordan Schultz of Yahoo! Sports, the Raiders are among them.
Jordy Nelson already generating interest I’m told. Look for the #Patriots, #Raiders, #Ravens, #Seahawks and #49ers all to make a push.

The others include the Patriots (of course), Ravens, Seahawks, and 49ers (who seem to be competing with the Raiders for every free agent out there).
Nelson’s link to the Raiders is fairly clear. His former wide receivers coach Edgar Bennett is now the wide receivers coach in Oakland.
NFL.com’s Chris Wesseling sees Oakland as the number one most likely destination for Nelson.

UPDATE: Then Schultz -- same guy with the original report here — goes and puts the Patriots as Nelson’s choice.
I’m told Jordy Nelson knew he was being released and that he was already targeting the #Patriots as a potential suitor. Makes a ton of sense https://t.co/qMfQU9OXsd

UPDATE: Regardless of whether Nelson was targeting the Patriots, he will be keeping his options open and is scheduled to visit the Raiders Wednesday.
Amid frenzy, Raiders been measured these past two days. Some action on Wednesday: former Packers WR Jordy Nelson is visiting team, source said.

Nelson was one of the few expected cap casualties this year that was always considered a good fit to come to Oakland. The wide receiver free agent class was very sparse otherwise, with a lot of receivers getting way overpaid. So, this would be a good get for the Raiders.
