Along with the team re-signing defensive tackle Justin Ellis and tight end Lee Smith, they have also brought back all of their Exclusive Rights Free Agents. The final of whom had yet to be confirmed being defensive end James Cowser and I can confirm per a source that he has been retained with a tender as well.
Cowser will earn a salary of $630,000 next season on on his tender. The former undrafted free agent signing is entering his third year with the team, having appeared in 22 games including all 16 last season.
The nation’s sack leader at Southern Utah, he has put up just 1.0 sack in his Raiders career as a reserve defensive end/outside linebacker along with a career 27 tackles (12 solo).
The other four ERFA tenders the Raiders have handed out were to OL Denver Kirkland, LB Shilique Calhoun, S Erik Harris, and K Giorgio Tavecchio.
