Raiders reportedly made offer to NaVorro Bowman who is testing the market

The Raiders caught a break in 2017 when linebacker NaVorro Bowman was released by the San Francisco 49ers. Oakland signed the three-time Pro Bowler who would end up leading the team in tackles (89) in just ten starts. Bowman was still allowed to become a free agent, leaving many to wonder if he would return to the Raiders.

Since then, the Raiders have added free agent linebacker Tahir Whitehead on a 3-year contract. But the team has an offer on the table for Bowman, should he choose to accept it after weighing his market options according to Vic Tafur of the Athletic.

Last season Bowman gave the Raiders a true presence at the linebacker position that they haven’t seen since Kirk Morrison roamed the field. It is for this reason he was deemed the Raiders highest priority re-sign by Silver and Black Pride.

Both Bowman and the Raiders have expressed mutual interest in retaining his services, and with so many holes to fill, a return by Bowman would prevent another critical need from forming.
