Having already addressed the linebacker position signing Tahir Whitehead and Kyle Wilber isn’t stopping the Raiders from searching for even more depth at the position. The team has reportedly been in discussion with Vikings outside linebacker Emmanuel Lamur per NFL Network’s Adam Caplan.

Lamur began his NFL career as an undrafted free agent with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2012. Raiders current defensive coordinator Paul Guenther has familiarity with the 28-year old linebacker from his days with the Bengals. Guenther was his position coach for two seasons and then his defensive coordinator in Cincinnati for two more before Lamur signed with the Minnesota Vikings in 2016.

Stuck behind a talented Vikings linebacker core, Lamur appeared in 29 games with the team over two years mostly on special teams and as a reserve. He will likely have a similar role with the Silver and Black, although he will have a chance to compete for a starting role under his former coach.
