It’s Sunday. What if there was an NFL football game to play today? Who would take the field?

We’re quite a few Sundays from when this team will take the field. There’s the draft, offseason practices, training camp, and preseason before they will have to field their final starting unit.

That being said, a lot can happen in a few days of free agency. So, to get a handle on what this team would look like if they had to take the field on this Sunday.

Offense

QB Derek Carr

RB Marshawn Lynch

FB Jamize Olawale

WR Amari Cooper

WR Jordy Nelson*

TE Jared Cook

LT Donald Penn

LG Kelechi Osemele

C Rodney Hudson

RG Gabe Jackson

RT David Sharpe

Notes: Newly signed FB Keith Smith is more of a blocking full back while Olawale is more of a receiving threat. Third receiver remains Seth Roberts. Blocking tight end remains Lee Smith.

Defense

DE Khalil Mack

DT Mario Edwards Jr

NT Justin Ellis

DE Bruce Irvin

OLB Cory James

MLB Tahir Whitehead*

OLB Nicholas Morrow

CB Gareon Conley

CB Rashaan Melvin*

SS Obi Melifonwu

FS Karl Joseph

Notes: Linebacker roles are the most in flux of the defense. Expect at least one addition that will change the starting three. Slot/nickel corner is Shareece Wright.
