Raiders pass rusher Bruce Irvin to Ndamukong Suh: ‘Don’t tease us’

At the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis last month, Jon Gruden was asked about his take on Bruce Irvin last year. This was his response:

“He’s still a very good pass rusher,” Grudend said of Irvin. “I think he plays with good effort, we just need to get him some help so he can do the things that he does the best, more often.”

Few players in the NFL could provide that help in the form of interior pass rush Gruden wants better than Ndamukong Suh. And Irvin agrees. Upon hearing that Suh would be paying the Raiders a visit this week, Irvin immediately took to twitter and to @ Suh. His message? We want you. But only if you want to be here.

Hopefully Suh will take being called a ‘krazy ass’ with the intention Irvin put behind it. I’ll trust Irvin aka ‘Baby Reggie’ knows how to make his pitch.

Irvin tied a career high 8.0 sacks last season, 5.0 of which came when the team decided to use him more at defensive end than outside linebacker. Leading the team to move him back to defensive end full time. Imagine Irvin and Khalil Mack on the edges and Suh in the middle and try to contain your excitement.
