The last six seasons that Rod Woodson spent as part of a team in the National Football League was in the Raiders organization. He spent his final two NFL seasons with the Raiders (2002-03), and returned a Cornerbacks coach in 2011, returned again as Assistant DB coach in 2015-16, and again as Cornerbacks coach last season.
When Jack Del Rio was fired, and Jon Gruden was hired, Woodson’s latest stint in Oakland came to an end. Now Woodson is back on the airwaves and he is highly critical of how things are being done in Oakland right now.
Woodson was on FS1’s Undisputed where he ripped Mark Davis’s 10-year investment in Gruden, was highly skeptical Gruden’s philosophy will work in today’s NFL, and strongly criticized the move to cut Michael Crabtree in favor of Jordy Nelson.
Disclaimer: I would typically never post anything from this program of hot takes. But this is about Rod Woodson with no takes from Skip Bayless. This one is presented without further commentary from me.
"I don't want to sound like a scorned lover because I was fired by the Raiders, but you can't tell me Jordy Nelson is better than @KingCrab15. That's a lie, and I love Derek Carr, [but] Derek Carr is not Aaron Rodgers." — @RodWoodson26 pic.twitter.com/RHHSXut8Ll
