After one season with the Raiders in which EJ Manuel won the primary backup job behind Derek Carr, the team has decided to bring him back for another go round.
Manuel seemed to confirm this with a tweet shortly before the report.
Today has been a very very good day☠️

The former 16 overall pick by the Bills signed a one-year deal with the Raiders last offseason. After a week of free agency, he may have decided the Raiders were his best option after testing the market, or the Raiders may have come around to bringing him back after gauging their options.
Manuel came in for the injured Derek Carr (back) against the Broncos in week four and very nearly led the team to a late win. He started the following week in a loss in Baltimore going 13 for 26 (50%) for 159 yards and 1 touchdown with no interceptions.
Earlier this week, the Raiders also added journeyman backup and cousin to Marshawn Lynch, Josh Johnson. They join former 4th round pick Connor Cook to once again compete to be the first off the bench behind starter Derek Carr.
