Raiders in discussions with veteran CB Leon Hall

A day after the Raiders were reportedly re-signing 34-year-old safety Reggie Nelson, they are reportedly talking with fellow 2007 first round pick, Leon Hall according to Vic Tafur of the Athletic.

The 33-year-old corner was selected at 18 overall in the 2007 draft, three picks before Nelson. He played the first nine years of his NFL career in Cincinnati, the final six of which alongside Nelson in the Bengals’ secondary.

Raiders Defensive Coordinator Paul Guenther was on the Bengals’ coaching staff for both Hall and Nelson’s entire time in Cincinnati, the final two with Guenther as Defensive Coordinator. Hall, if signed, would be the third player added this offseason who played on his defense. Linebacker Emmanuel Lamur being the other.

Hall has played for the Giants and 49ers over the past two seasons, appearing in 21 games, starting three. He has has one interception and 3 passes defended the past two seasons.
