After a busy two days, the Raiders kicked off day three selecting Wisconsin cornerback Nick Nelson at 110 overall. What does the staff at Silver & Black Pride think of the pick?

Nelson dropped a bit due to a torn meniscus at a private workout with the Detroit Lions. He recently had surgery but got good news and should be ok by Training Camp according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. At 5’11”, 200 lbs, he is a smaller corner with good cover skills that could play in the slot. Nelson is the 52nd ranked overall player in the draft according to Pro Football Focus.
Many Raider fans were wanting Oakland to draft a corner in the first couple of rounds, but the team decided to go with the line. Here they get a corner, and he’s a good one. Anybody who watched Wisconsin play last year knows who Nick Nelson is, he was the best player on a top-five defense that carried a Badger team with almost no offense firepower. Nelson will need to work on his technique, but he’s a hard worker that Raider fans will absolutely love.

Oakland needed to add to the secondary at some point during the draft and they did so with Nelson. He had an exceptional season for the Badgers in 2017 and was ranked as the No. 9 cornerback according to Pro Football Focus entering the draft. Nelson could be an important addition to the slot this upcoming season assuming he fully heals from his meniscus injury. Ultimately, it was a great selection to find this type of value in the fourth round.

The Raider finally get a cornerback. The guy was a transfer from Hawaii to Wisconsin, where he started one season. He has zero interceptions, but his pass defended numbers are outstanding with 36 over the past two seasons for the Warriors and Badgers. Talk about a change in climate. He was projected by most to go right about here in the draft.
What grade would you give the Raiders selection of at Nick Nelson 110 overall?
