So far in the 2018 NFL draft, Oakland has done a solid job of filling the team’s needs by adding two offensive tackles, an interior and edge pass rusher, a defensive tackle and a cornerback with the first six selections in the draft.

With the Raiders’ seventh pick in the draft, at No. 173 overall in the fifth round, Oakland selected Punter Johnny Townsend from Florida.

During his four seasons as a Gator, Townsend punted 240 times with an average 46.2 yards per punt. He has improved over the last two years as his average was above 47 yards per punt his junior and senior season. He earned second-team Associated Press All American and second-team All-SEC honors as a senior.

Townsend is also quite the athlete for a punter as his 40 yard dash time came in at 4.83 seconds.

Ultimately, Jon Gruden makes another solid pick here near the end of the fifth round to help fill another need on the team after the Raiders released Marquette King earlier this offseason.
