Late Sunday evening the cops were called to the home of Raiders offensive tackle Donald Penn’s Los Angeles home. It was Penn’s wife alleging her husband assaulted her, according to a report by TMZ.

Cops were told Penn was at the house earlier and got handsy with his wife, at one point slapping her butt. Donald’s wife took exception to the slap and a vocal argument ensued.

Things escalated and Penn allegedly poured a drink on his wife’s head and grabbed his wife by the wrist.

Donald Penn was not there when the police arrived. They took a report and are currently investigating the incident.

Far be it from me or anyone else to assume exactly what went down between 6-5, 305-pound tackle and his wife. They have had some issues in the past, most publicly in October of 2016 when she took to instagram to blast that he had an affair with former Camilla Poindexter of Bad Girls Club ‘fame’.

The 35-year-old Penn is entering the first year of a 2-year extension he signed just prior to last season. Though the second year of that extension carries no guaranteed money and the Raiders used two of their first three draft picks on Thursday and Friday on left tackle prospects.

Donald Penn saw the selection of Kolton Miller in the first round as someone coming for his job and therefore extra motivation. He is currently recovering from a foot injury he suffered late last season.

Update: Donald and Mrs Penn released a joint statement to TMZ about the incident.

“There was a verbal disagreement, there was NO physical altercation. The two are in the middle of a divorce and it is a hard time for both parties.”
