The Raiders keep working through their draft class. Today they finished signing all of their picks from rounds 5-7, announcing deals with 5th round pick Maurice Hurst and 7th round pick Marcell Ateman.
The team traded up in the fifth round to select Hurst at 140th overall. He appeared in 46 games with 17 starts over four seasons at Michigan, totaling 133 tackles (64 solo), 12.5 sacks, three passes defensed, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and one blocked kick. The 6-1, 291-pounder also garnered Academic All-Big Ten Conference honors all four years.
Ateman was the Raiders’ final selection the 2018 NFL Draft at 228 overall. He played four seasons at Oklahoma State, appearing in 51 games with 29 starts and totaling 146 receptions for 2,466 yards (16.9 avg.) with 13 touchdowns. Ateman’s 2,466 receiving yards rank sixth in school history.
These signings bring the draft class signing total to 5 along with 2nd round defensive tackle PJ Hall, 5th round punter Johnny Townsend, and 6th round linebacker Azeem Victor.
Still remaining are first round OT Kolton Miller, 3rd round OT Brandon Parker, 3rd round DE Arden Key, and 4th round CB Nick Nelson.
