Well Raider fans, OTA’s have come and gone so it seems like a good time to check the pulse of the Nation. We here at Silver & Black Pride would like to know how you feel about where the Raiders are now compared to last year’s squad. What grade would you give the Raiders for their extremely busy off-season?
It’s an exciting time to be a Raiders fan with Jon Gruden finally returning to the team with which he should have won the Super Bowl. It’s been surreal seeing Chucky back in Raiders gear and red faced just like back at the turn of the century. Whether you think that’s a good thing will likely be a big factor on how optimistic you are for the Raiders current shape.
The Raiders have gone through a major facelift outside of just their coaching staff too, they also have almost a 3rd of their team as new faces.
Gone are fan favorites Michael Crabtree, Marquette King, Denico Autry, NaVorro Bowman, TJ Carrie, Sean Smith, and David Amerson among many others. In comes Jordy Nelson, Martavis Bryant, Tank Carradine, Breno Giacomini, Derrick Johnson, and Rashaan Melvin to just name a few. They also have their intriguing 2018 draft class new to the team as well.
Last but not least, there are some familiar faces who are getting a new life on defense with Bruce Irvin moving from linebacker to defensive end and the return of last year’s 1st round pick Gareon Conley and hopefully their 2nd round pick Obi Melifonwu who both missed most of last year battling injuries. It’s like the Raiders have two more talented rookies added to this year’s class with those two hopefully being healthy this season.
What grade would you give this off-season so far? Vote in the poll below to let us know how you think this off-season has gone, and let us know in the comments section how you feel about the direction the Jon Gruden-led Raiders have taken.
