Among the many free agent additions the Raiders have had this offseason, there have been a few who made a homecoming of sorts. Most notably Doug Martin and Keith Smith who join Oakland native Marshawn Lynch in the Raiders offensive backfield. There could be another with Fresno Native and Cal grad Mychal Kendricks paying the Raiders a visit, according to Yahoo Sports.

The 27-year-old middle linebacker was released by the reigning Super Bowl champion Eagles last week in a cost cutting move, immediately making him an intriguing possibility for the Raiders.

There’s still a need for linebackers in Oakland. They are showing no indications they will be bringing NaVorro Bowman back and the addition of 35-year-old Derrick Johnson doesn’t eliminate the need even at middle linebacker alone

Kendricks is also visiting Minnesota and Cleveland, so the Raiders will have competition. While the Raiders have the geographical advantage, the Vikings have the advantage of having Mychal’s brother Eric Kendricks which could be a draw for him.
