Few positions are at more of a premium in the NFL than pass rusher. And there isn’t a single pass rusher who can claim to be better than Khalil Mack. And yet, the NFL Top 100 each year doesn’t place him atop the pass rusher mountain.
This year he comes in at number 16, which seems entirely too low. He was recently ranked 6th overall by Pro Football Focus and got the 6th highest rating on Madden ‘19.
Last year we had to wait another week to hear the then reigning Defensive Player of the Year get his name called at five overall, but even then Von Miller was ranked above him at second overall. Miller is currently the highest paid pass rusher in the NFL and Mack held out of Raiders offseason practices to overtake Miller as the NFL’s highest paid non-QB.
That’s ok, though. He will go out and do what he does this season. He’ll put up double digit sacks along with being the best run stopping defensive end in football. And if he can get some help from the interior, he would do more than that.
Mack is one of three Raiders players to make the NFL Top 100. Mack’s draft classmate Derek Carr landed at 60 and his linemate Bruce Irvin came in at 85.
