Free agent CB Bashaud Breeland leaves Oakland without deal, visiting Kansas City where Chiefs ‘don’t plan on letting him take another visit’

This late in the offseason, and with a little money as the Raiders have under the cap, reeling in a big fish like Bashaud Breeland is a tough task. The free agent cornerback had signed a 3-year, $24 million deal with the Panthers early in free agency, but the deal was voided due to a foot injury.

Breeland is now healthy and ready to sign with a team ahead of training camp. The first team to host him was the Raiders, but he left without a deal and is now visiting the Chiefs according to Carrington Harrison, and they are not planning on letting him continue to his his scheduled visits to the Browns and Colts.

The Chiefs can plan all they want, but if Breeland likes his prospects in Indianapolis or Cleveland, or even Oakland, he will be on his way. Not coincidentally the Browns and Colts are one and two with the most available cap money, so they are clearly more able to offer him a good deal. The Chiefs and Raiders have among the least money available.
