With just a couple weeks left before the final cutdown day, the Raiders have made a roster move. They claimed cornerback Antwuan Davis off waivers from the Lions and waived injured safety Tevin Mitchel.
The Raiders coaching staff got a good look at Davis a couple weeks ago as the Lions scrimmaged with the Raiders for two days before facing them in the preseason opener.
The undrafted rookie out of Texas played in both of the Lions’ preseason games before being waived Monday. He had one tackle vs the Raiders in their first preseason game and another in the Lions’ second preseason game against the Giants.
Davis played four seasons for the Longhorns, appearing in 23 games, totaling 50 tackles (40 solo) and two interceptions with one returned for a touchdown, a pass defended, and three forced fumbles.
