First Raiders depth chart of 2018 is released: Observations

With the first preseason game for the 2018 Raiders coming up this week, the team has released its first depth chart. Here’s what it looks like:

Interesting Seth Roberts is still listed as the third receiver. It has been Ryan Switzer who has been the team’s primary slot receiver in camp.

Jon Feliciano is listed as the backup left guard. He is really the primary backup interior lineman and when all three starters are healthy, he is the primary backup center.

David Sharpe is listed as the backup left tackle, though he has seen most of his work at right tackle.

Obviously Khalil Mack is not there as he has not reported to camp awaiting a cotract extension. Tank Carradine has seen his first team reps.

The linebacker trio is as it has been all offseason and camp; Emmanuel Lamur, Derrick Johnson, and Tahir Whitehead. Though I have seen Whitehead on the strong side as well.

Gareon Conley has been hurt all but the first day of camp, but when he returns he is expected to be the starter.

Marcus Gilchrist is listed ahead of Reggie Nelson, though Nelson is often in first team reps while Gilchrist works at lot as the nickel corner.

Dwayne Harris ahead of Ryan Switzer at both returner spots is interesting. They have both lined up back there, but Switzer seems like he is the punt returner. Though if Switzer sees more time on offense, they may pull him back from his return duties.
