Raiders sign safety Quincy Mauger

The Raiders today announced they have signed free agent safety Quincy Mauger. The former Georgia Bulldog was signed in 2017 as an undrafted free agent by the Atlanta Falcons, but he suffered a season-ending knee injury in their preseason finale and was released in June of this year.

At Georgia, Mauger tallied 186 tackles and seven interceptions, The Raiders have had some serious depth problems at safety during training camp, at one point only having four available which made it difficult to practice the way Jon Gruen likes. Mauger may not last on the Raider team unless he shows himself invaluable in special teams, but he at least is a warm body the team can use in practice.

In a corresponding move, the Raiders released long-snapper Drew Scott.
