Greetings, Raider Nation! Raiderdamus the Great and Powerful welcomes you to the annual Monday Night Football doubleheader, in which we typically have an East Coast matchup first and then get to watch the Raiders get blown out at night.

The Raiders play the Rams in the nightcap game, but first we have our East Coast game as the Lions host the Jets. The Lions have their star franchise quarterback in Matt Stafford, and it looks as though the Jets have just drafted theirs in the form of Lego Carson Palmer aka Sam Darnold. He won the starting job in preseason and absolutely deserved to. He was so good, the Jets traded a healthy Teddy Bridgewater to the Saints.

The Lions weren’t very good in Week 1 of the preseason against the Raiders, but they are an entirely different team with Stafford under center. And they might now have a bona fide running game, with LeGarrette Blount and rookie Kerryon Johnson in the backfield. The Jets have very few star skill position players, and rely on their defense whereas the fortunes of the Lions are almost entirely on Stafford’s arm.

You can watch tonight’s game at 4 p.m. Pacific on ESPN.
