The Raiders lost Jon Gruden's first game back. And man, could they have used Khalil Mack. - Chicago Tribune

Rams too much to handle after promising start from Raiders | Silver and Black Pride

Oakland’s next drive ended in one of the most embarrassing interceptions of Derek Carr’s career. It was truly bizarre as Carr softly lofted the ball directly to the waiting arms of Rams linebacker Cory Littleton. The ridiculous moment was made even worse because it came right after another great play by Jared Cook where he carried tacklers several extra yards on a 32 yard reception. What looked like signs of life for the Raiders quickly turned into a deadly mistake from Derek Carr.

A few plays later, with the Raiders at the 10-yard-line, Marshawn Lynch got the ball and ran up the middle. He went 7 yards before being met by Rams defenders. But he wouldn’t be denied. With some help from his friends on the offensive line, Lynch refused to go down and carried the entire Rams defense into the end zone for the score.

Jon Gruden says Khalil Mack “obviously didn’t want to play here” | Silver and Black Pride

This is a pretty hardline stance from Gruden, considering that teams rarely let elite players actually play out their contracts and hit free agency. Quarterbacks and top-level edge rushers almost never reach the open market. In my view, to say ‘Mack was under contract’ ignores the work that should have been done to extend said contract.

Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch hilariously roasted on Twitter for high school picture | Silver and Black Pride

It really is a great picture of him in his youth, but the difference between that picture and an image taken today was just too drastically different to not have hilarity ensue. Enjoy the roasting for yourself though!

But beyond the numbers, Miller is poised for a huge season if the Broncos can take the formula of a Week 1 win into autumn and beyond. The Broncos have other rushers in the formation now, most notably Chubb, the team’s first top-five draft pick since Miller.

It was a typical “Welcome to the NFL, rookie” moment, where the nervy young gun quickly learns the perils of testing professional secondaries. A pick-six like that would have ruined other first-year quarterbacks’ evenings. But Darnold was different on Monday night.
