2018 NFL Week One Thursday Night Football open thread: Eagles vs. Falcons

NFL: NFC Divisional Playoff-Atlanta Falcons at Philadelphia Eagles Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Greetings, Raider fans! After a long wait through the dull drudgery of the offseason, regular season football returns tonight. This one is a playoff rematch between the Atlanta Falcons and the defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles.

The Falcons are essentially the same team as last season, explosive and powerful with a tendency not to show up when it matters the most. Matt Ryan and Julio Jones will look to add on to their tandem legacy of greatness.

Philadelphia is still without star quarterback Carson Wentz, who suffered an ACL tear near the end of last season, but they have the next best thing in Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles. He’s looked godawful this preseason, but sometimes those things don’t translate. However, if Philly gets off to a slow start, can they recover against the Falcons’ high octane offense?

This game will be on NBC at 5:20 PM Pacific time, and you can stream the game live on NBC Sports.
