Greetings, Raider Nation! Now that Sunday’s day games are out of the way, it’s time for Sunday Night Football, featuring longtime rivals Green Bay and Chicago. These two teams go way back to the infancy of the NFL, and both were charter members of the original NFL.
However, Green Bay was kicked out of the NFL for a season in 1921 because Bears owner George Halas discovered the Packers were using college players on their team, which was against the rules. Halas was using college players too, of course, and the Packers were reinstated in 1922 after the Bears signed one of the college players in question, Notre Dame’s Harry “Hunk” Anderson. Sneaky sneaky, Bears!
Tonight’s game will feature A. A. Ron Rodgers and a bunch of nobodies taking on the Bears, who have completely mortgaged their future in trading for former Raider Khalil Mack. We are all Packer fans tonight, because we need the Bears to lose as often as possible in order to make sure next year’s first rounder is a high pick.
You can watch tonight’s game on NBC and stream live on NBC Sports.
