Ex-Raiders/Cowboys RB Darren McFadden fell asleep behind the wheel in Whataburger drive-thru, arrested for DWI

New, comments

If he was drunk in the drive-thru at In-N-Out, he’d sober up before he got to the window. And then enjoy a far superior burger.

Since there is no Drive-thru While Intoxicated charge, Darren McFadden was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated in a Whataburger drive-thru in the Dallas Forth Worth area late Sunday/early Monday according to a TMZ report.

As they say, nothing good happens after midnight. And presumably since he couldn’t find an In-N-Out Burger in his alleged drunken state, McFadden settled for the inferior Whataburger, making that the ‘nothing good’ he did. I mean aside from endangering fellow citizens’ lives as well as his own by being behind the wheel of a car so drunk he passed out.

According to the report, McFadden was asleep behind the wheel of his 2019 Yukon and police were forced to break the windows on his passenger side to get to him. The former NFL back was arrested and taken to the station and booked on charges of DWI and resisting arrest.

McFadden was selected with the 4th overall pick in the 2008 draft out of Arkansas. He spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Raiders, who are in California, where In-N-Out Burgers are plentiful, including one right across the freeway from Oakland Coliseum. He spent the final three years of his career in Dallas.
