A day after learning the Raiders were firing former General Manager Reggie McKenzie’s top assistant Joey Clinkscales, and there’s at least one potential candidate set to meet with them.

Ryan Grigson had worked his way up from regional scout to Director of Player Personnel with the Eagles — a position he held for two season from 2010 to 2011 before moving on to become the GM of the Colts from 2012 to 2016. Director of Player Personnel happens to be the position Clinkscales held up until yesterday.

Grigson was a senior personnel executive with the Browns in 2017 and last season was a senior consultant with the Seahawks. So, he hasn’t exactly been working his way back up the ladder.

Upon the hiring of Mike Mayock as the team’s new GM, he mentioned he had a list of some 15 guys who he would like to be his number two. Is Grigson on that list? Or would he just like to be?

La Canfora also reported Grigson has received interest from the 49ers in a front office position.
