Raiders let go of pro personnel director Dane Vandernat

Since Jon Gruden took over as head coach it seems change has been the only constant with the Raiders. Recently the front office has been getting an overhual, starting with Reggie McKenzie who was fired late last season and replaced with Mike Mayock. The most recent move has Oakland parting ways with pro personnel director Dane Vandernat, per the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s Michael Gehlken.

Vandernat joined the team as an intern in 2008. The California native got his undergraduate degree from Cal Poly Pomona before earning a Master’s degree from the University of San Francisco.

This isn’t the first change to the department this calendar year as Joey Clinkscales, director of player personnel and McKenzie’s right-hand man, was fired by the Raiders earlier in January.

And by the way Gruden talked about Mayock, it seems the Raiders are not satisfied with the front office quite yet.

“A lot of the personnel people’s contracts expire and guys become available after the draft,” Gruden said last week via NBC Sports. “I’m sure Mike and everybody is keeping a close eye on who is available and who will become available. I know we have interviewed a few guys. I know Mike likes to pick people’s brain, and gather clues and information.”

There could be more alterations to the front office before all is said and done.
