In a game mostly dominated by each team’s defense, in the end it was the offenses that made it interesting. It was a 6-3 game in favor of the Bears in the third quarter. The Eagles scored the game’s first touchdown and the game was 10-9 early in the fourth.

Midway through the fourth, the Bears took back the lead by finding the end zone for the first time on a 22-yard touchdown pass from Mitch Trubisky to Allen Robinson. But the 2-point conversion attempt failed and the score remained 15-10.

With under five minutes left, the Eagles went on a long drive. In first and goal at the 2-yard-line, Khalil Mack would stuff two consecutive runs for no gain. The Eagles would have to go for it on fourth and goal and a pass out right at the pylon to Golden Tate would give them the 16-15 lead. They too would attempt a 2-point conversion and fail, giving the Bears 48 seconds to try and drive for the win.

In three plays, the Bears were at the Philadelphia 25-yard-line, in range of a 43-yard field goal. Cody Parkey’s potential game winning field goal attempt bounced off the left upright, then the cross bar no good and the Eagles escaped Chicago with the 16-15 win.

With the loss, the Bears pick — which belongs to the Raiders in the Khalil Mack trade — is now locked in at pick 24. It’s one of three picks the Raiders have in the first round. The other is not yet decided as the Cowboys won their game against the Seahawks to advance to the Division round, putting their pick currently at 27 overall.

In case you were wondering, Khalil Mack finished second on the Bears with 6 combined tackles (5 solo) with a tackle for loss and two QB hits.
