With Marcell Ateman added to the active roster last week, the Raiders had a wide receiver spot open on the practice squad. Monday they filled that spot with the addition of free agent WR Anthony Ratliff-Williams.

The 6-1, 250-pound Ratliff-Williams is an undrafted rookie receiver out of North Carolina. He came to the Tarheels as a quarterback but switched to receiver after his freshman year. Over his final two seasons 1319 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns.

The Raiders also changed out their practice squad running back, releasing Damarea Crockett and bringing back James Butler for his fourth stint with the team.

Butler was signed during the 2018 offseason and spent time on the team’s practice squad. He was brought back in January on a reserve/futures contract, cut in April, then re-signed early in camp. He was among the final roster cuts and wasn’t re-signed to the practice squad. Well, not until today.

After being cut by the Raiders last April, Butler signed on with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL. He played college ball at Nevada and Iowa.
