Ex-Eagle WR Torrey Smith -- "We are building weak children"

This is a must-read for any football fan, but more importantly for any father. I'd post the link to the articles covering the story , but alas, I haven't that skillset, so I'll just say to Google, "we are building weak children" instead.

The gist of it is this: Torrey's brother-in-law, a pee wee youth football coach in Conshohocken, a suburb of Philly was recently suspended for 2 games and fined $500 for 'running up the score'. It seems the league has a rule prohibiting a team from winning by more than 30 points. With his team up 30-0, Williams put in the scrubs who rarely got playing time. His 5 yr old RB took off for the end zone and scored, despite Williams running along the sideline screaming for him to "fall down". His reward is a 2 game suspension and a fine of $500.

His brother-in-law, ex- Eagle WR Torrey Smith is outraged. He is quoted as saying: "Kids need to learn to deal with failure. You don't want to get smashed...play better"

"Life doesn't let up, when it rains it pours"

"Other kids can't give their all because there's a rule that says,'work hard, but not too hard'.

I, for one, applaud Torrey Smith for his defense of his brother-in-law, Mr Williams.
