Wednesday the Raiders returned to practice to begin their week’s preparation for the Green Bay Packers without top receiver Tyrell Williams. The last game Williams took the field was against the Colts which means it’s been a while since we saw him take the field.
His injury, as it turns out, is a plantar fascia injury according to Jon Gruden didn’t sound too positive about Williams’s immediate availability.
“Tyrell Williams was unable to go today,” said Gruden. “He has a football problem. He has a plantar fascia. . . whatever that is, he has it. It’s not getting much better.”
This suggests Williams may not play again this week when the Raiders travel to Green Bay to face the Packers.
Barring an upgrade in Williams’s status in the next few days, the Raiders receiving corps figures to be newly acquired receivers Zay Jones and Trevor Davis along with Hunter Renfrow, Keelan Doss, and Marcell Ateman.
