As those who follow the Raiders, we know how rough the wide receiver position has been for them this season. Of their initially projected top four receivers coming into the season, three are not on the team an the other is injured.
Only Tyrell Williams remains on the team from the top four receivers from the preseason and he is suffering from a plantar fascia injury that caused him to miss last week’s game and still had him missing practice on Wednesday.
The Packers may be in just as rough a situation. Their top three wide receivers are Davante Adams, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Geronimo Allison. All three are nursing injuries. The Packers didn’t have a full practice Wednesday, but they projected that had they done so, it would have been without their top receivers as they begin preparation to face the Raiders on Sunday.
Adams, the team’s top receiver, missed the past two games with a turf toe injury. Those can be nagging and take a long time to heal, making his status very much in doubt for this week’s game. Still, even without him, the Packers have won two straight.
Scantling and Allison both left their game on Monday against the Lions with injuries. And both have injuries to multiple areas. Valdez-Scantling has an ankle and knee injury and Allison has a concussion and a chest injury.
