NFL Afternoon games open thread

NFL: Seattle Seahawks at Baltimore Ravens Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

The afternoon games this week are pretty enticing to watch, especially the battle between the 4-2 Baltimore Ravens and the 5-1 Seattle Seahawks. There is also the game between the 3-2 Bears and the 5-1 Saints along with the battle of 2-4 teams in the Chargers at Titans. All three of those games have reasons to believe they will be fun to watch.

Starting from the top, the Ravens against the Seahawks seems like it could be one of the highest scoring games of the year. Lamar Jackson has been incredible all season long with the Ravens averaging 30.7 (!) points per game and the Seahawks are not that far back averaging 27.5 per game themselves. That says everything you need to know about the NFL’s game of the week.

The Bears against the Saints is no snoozefest either. The Bears are looking to put their surprise loss to the Raiders behind them after having a bye last week, while the Saints are trying to keep the train rolling behind Teddy Bridgewater. This will be Bridgewater’s biggest test so far though with that Bears defense angry and ready for redemption after not playing up to their standards in London 2 weeks ago.

Lastly, there is the surprisingly unsuccessful Chargers against the Titans. Both of these teams are desperate for wins to keep their seasons alive, a 2-5 hole to start the year is awfully hard to climb out of for playoff contention. The Titans are so desperate they benched Marcus Mariota and are starting former Dolphins starter Ryan Tannehil instead. Meanwhile, the Chargers are eager to get Melvin Gordon going who has been completely ineffective since returning from his long hold out.

As always, chat here with your fellow Raiders fans while these afternoon games go down.
