The news of the passing of Willie Brown has hit hard for many who knew him over his six decades in the NFL, including his 52 years with the Raiders organization. The mourning has only begun. It is coming from anyone who has ever met Willie Brown because he was truly beloved by anyone who came in contact with him.
Raiders owner Mark Davis
“It’s A Very Sad Day For The Raider Nation As A Whole.. And For My Family In Particular.. Willie Brown Was One Of The Greatest To Ever Play The Game.. But It Was Off The Field And How He Treated My Mom For Which I Will Forever Be Indebted To Him.. Every Road Trip It Was Willie Who Helped My Mom Up And Down The Stairs Of The Plane.. It Was Willie Who Joined Her For All Dinners On The Road.. It Was Willie Who Came To Her Every Birthday And Mother’s Day Dinner.. It Was Willie Who Was Her Best Friend.. We Loved And Will Miss You Willie.”
@Raiders my heart is truly heavy hearing the news my friend Willie Brown has passed away. From almost day one, we connected because of our last names, he would tell me "You can't have that name on that Jersey and not play well!"! Won't be the same w/o 24!! RIP name sake!!

My heart hurts - a magnificent player, a magnificent teammate - I shall never hear the words “bed check” without getting a lump in my throat and then smiling - he supported and encouraged me throughout my career - and he let me help coach (youth games). https://t.co/2Ol3AfG8La pic.twitter.com/J1hsWEfgkK

Willie Brown and I at the NFL Draft in Dallas in 2018. We got escorted to AT&T Stadium by eight police motorcycles. A flock of angels escorting this gentle man today. pic.twitter.com/DJIRvDHaFY

RIP Willie Brown. Can’t thank you enough for helping a young Raider after being drafted. Not only did you coach but also held the Player Development title and helped so many of us throughout our years in the Silver & Black. You are a Legend and the original @Raiders 24. #BlueGo

Mr. Brown a kind and gentle soul. I could easily speak upon your greatness as a football player (well deserved) but Willie Brown the Man, my neighbor the past 20 years who brought so much sunshine and joy to the community is whom I will miss the most.
