NFL week 5 odds, betting lines: Raiders 5-point dogs to Bears at ‘home’ in London

New, comments
Oakland Raiders v Chicago Bears

Home field for the Raiders this week is Tottenham Hotspur stadium in London. And much like last year at Wembley against the Seahawks, it won’t by much of a home field advantage. The 2-2 Raiders go up against a 3-1 Bears team, which also doesn’t favor the Silver & Black. The oddsmakers give the Bears a 5-point advantage in the game according to DraftKings Sportsbook.

Despite the Bears winning three straight, they are fielding backup quarterback Chase Daniel with Mitchell Trubisky lost to a shoulder injury last week. That brought line down a point from where it opened. Although Bovada still has the line at six points, and most others land at 5.5.

The Raiders clawed back to 2-2 with a big win over the Colts last week, which likely also saved the line. Had they lost, it would have been the inverse to the Bears with them falling to 1-3 after losing three straight. And the lines that had been over a touchdown the previous three weeks would have trended farther in the wrong direction.

We saw a competitive game by the Raiders even despite dealing with injuries at several positions and the loss of Vontaze Burfict early in the game. That bodes well for them.

Everyone knows the Bears strength is on defense, so if the Raiders defense can step up, they could try and pull out a low-scoring affair. In case you were wondering, the over/under for the game is 40.5.
