Raiders, Bears Thursday injury report: Trevor Davis taking practice reps in place of still injured Tyrell Williams

NFL: Oakland Raiders at Indianapolis Colts Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Thursday didn’t bring much in the way of good news for the Raiders on the injury front. Tyrell Williams was still not practicing with his foot injury. In his place in practice, it was Trevor Davis taking reps, which would suggest he could go into this game as their number one wide receiver.

That’s a scary thought considering just two weeks ago Davis was acquired in trade and has been primarily a return specialist is entire career with nine NFL catches.

It might have been Dwayne Harris seeing staring receiver duties but he was back to not practicing after one day on limited duty, making his status in doubt for Sunday’s game. JJ Nelson was very limited Thursday as well. He missed last Sunday after experiencing tightness in his leg.

Offensive coordinator Greg Olson is hoping Williams will be able to go on Sunday, but if he doesn’t go and JJ Nelson is unable to go again either, the Raiders could be looking at three receivers for the game; Trevor Davis, Keelan Doss, and Hunter Renfrow. Yikes.

The Bears could also be out one of their top receivers as Taylor Gabriel continues to miss practice with a concussion.

Perhaps more importantly missing practice again for the Bears was Pro Bowl DT Akiem Hicks.
