When the Raiders took the practice field in London on Wednesday, they were without top wide receiver Tyrell Williams and top pick defensive end Clelin Ferrell. As of Friday they were still without both players, putting their status for Sunday’s game against the Bears in serious doubt.
Ferrell has a concussion and typically if he were to go through the protocol and be cleared to play, a step in the process would include him practicing at least once in the week. He did not.
Williams has a foot injury which caused him to miss all week as well. Offensive coordinator Greg Olson spoke of resting Williams in the hopes of having him Sunday, but again, mere rest doesn’t usually mean not practicing at all the full week.
Both players are officially questionable for the game along with wide receiver JJ Nelson who had been limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday before missing practice again on Friday. He was a late scratch last week with a knee issue and appears as if he could be again.
With Dwayne Harris fighting through an ankle injury, the Raiders could have just three healthy receivers on Sunday — Trevor Davis, Keelan Doss, and Hunter Renfrow.
The Bears got Pro Bowl defensive lineman Akiem Hiicks back at practice on Friday. He is officially questionable. He is a big part of that stellar Bears defensive line so obviously having him on the field would be no small thing.
The Bears have four players out — WR Taylor Gabriel, OL Ted Larson, DT Bilal Nichols, and QB Mitchell Trubisky,
