NFL: Detroit Lions at Oakland Raiders Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Raiders face a pivotal test on Sunday as they return from an historic 48-day road-trip. Sitting at 3-4, the Raiders need to win this one to stay afloat in the AFC Wildcard race. The difference between 3-5 and 4-4 would be significant for this team, as they face only one team (Kansas City) who currently has a winning record across the season’s final nine showings.

The 3-3-1 Lions will be a tough test, as they’ve been competitive in every game this season. They narrowly lost to Green Bay 23-22 in a game in which they really outplayed the Packers, and were beaten 34-30 by the Chiefs due to a Patrick Mahomes-led comeback.

The Raiders have the easiest remaining schedule in the NFL that doesn’t include the Miami Dolphins, per Football Outsiders. And their defense should (hopefully) look better as the competition eases up.
