NFL late window open thread

With Week 10 having more byes (six) than any other week of the season, there are only a trio of games going on during Sunday’s late window. But they all could have major playoff implications.

If Miami can upset an Indianapolis squad playing without Jacoby Brissett, the Colts will drop to even with the Raiders at 5-4. Since Oakland has the head-to-head tiebreaker, they would potentially break into the No. 6-seed.

The Rams will travel to Heinz field to play against a Steelers team that is somehow 4-4 after taking advantage of an easy schedule and a costly miss from Adam Vinatieri. The Rams desperately need to grab a win to keep pace with the Seahawks and 49ers, while the Raiders will be rooting against the Steelers considering they are direct competition and currently have the tiebreaker based on in-conference record.

The Panthers—Packers game has no direct affect on Oakland, but it should be an interesting matchup of two winning teams with dynamic offenses. With Ian Rapoport reporting that it is “highly unlikely” that Cam Newton returns to Carolina in 2020 after going on season-ending IR, all eyes will be on Kyle Allen’s progress under center.
