According to Adam Schefter, the Raiders worked out former Cleveland Browns safety Jermaine Whitehead today.
Safety Jermaine Whitehead, who was waived by the Browns last week after posting threatening Tweets, worked out for the Raiders.

Whitehead was cut from the Browns after responding to online criticism with an absolutely ridiculous social media tantrum. Among the barrage of tweets he sent out that resulted in his eminent release, Whitehead’s response to criticism from former NFL cornerback Dustin Fox on twitter sums up his night:
“Come get it in blood bitch made ass lil boy. I’m out there with a broke hand .. don’t get smoked fuck ass cracker”
Imagine thinking that airing that out on social media is okay? Apparently, the Raiders are desperate enough in the secondary to consider signing a guy who is prone to episodes like such. Plus, he might have a broken hand? That doesn’t seem like the best idea.
The Raiders also brought in cornerback DeShawn Shead, and hopefully he made a better impression on the team than Whitehead.
The workouts are likely due to the fact that LaMarcus Joyner will be week-to-week with a hamstring injury suffered late on Thursday night. With Joyner and Karl Joseph suddenly out of the lineup, the Raiders will be looking for answers at defensive back wherever they can find them.
In other news, the Raiders have designated linebacker Marquel Lee to return from IR. He will not be available to play until Week 13, but can start practicing now. His return from an ankle injury could boost a struggling linebacker corps down the stretch.
After Isaiah Johnson returned from an IR designation last week, Lee becomes the second Raider to return from IR this season, meaning that players such as Nathan Peterman, Johnathan Abram, Jordan Devey and Isaiah Crowell are ineligible to return this year whether they are healthy or not.
