Keelan Doss

Hunter Renfrow is dealing with a broken rib and a punctured lung suffered against the Jets (that he played through), and coach Gruden said he would be “out a while.”

Gruden was asked who the next man up would be in Renfrow’s absence.

“Obviously, we have Keelan Doss,” said Gruden of his options at slot receiver. “Who has played in the slot a little bit this year, he’s a good player. Darren Waller can play in the slot, Carrier can play in the slot, and Zay Jones made a living in the slot at East Carolina. So we will see who we plug in there as we prepare for the Chiefs.”

Doss has not been active since Week 7’s matchup with Green Bay when he caught three balls for 54 yards. This could finally be the opportunity Doss needed to shine.

Raiders fan base

I wasn’t there, but all the reports I have heard from national radio shows and twitter suggest that Raider Nation showed up and showed out on Sunday at Met Life Stadium.

You even heard Jets safety Jamal Adams talk about being booed before the game in his home stadium. Unfortunately for the Raiders, it worked against them as the Jets felt disrespected and played inspired football.

Mike Mayock drafting a LB

In recent draft,s the Raiders have been reluctant to use a high draft pick on a linebacker. In the 2020 draft, that philosophy should come to an end.

Pass rush help was the biggest need last year and this year it has to be linebacker. With injuries and suspensions, the position has been decimated. Gruden and Mayock have tried to put a band aid on the situation bringing in the likes of Dakota Allen, Justin Phillips, Will Compton, Brandon Marshall, and Preston Brown just to name a few.

Nicholas Morrow and Tahir Whitehead have given everything they can, but it’s just not good enough.
