With Trent Brown headed to IR, the Raiders filled out their 53-man roster by signing linebacker Ukeme Eligwe.

Eligwe was signed off the New York Jets practice squad and has spent time with Titans, Giants and Chiefs since being drafted by Kansas City in the fifth round in 2017.
The Georgia Southern product weighs in at 6-foot-2 and 239 pounds and is best suited as a 4-3 strong side outside linebacker. He likely won’t be asked to do much on defense, however, as this seems like more of a depth and special teams signing.
Interestingly enough, Eligwe is apparently a “Flat Earther,” according to his wikipedia page.
The Raiders may start to scour the edges of the league in search for future contributors. Looking to opposing practice squads is a good place to start.
Last year, the Raiders found Darren Waller on the Baltimore Ravens practice squad. It’s unlikely that they find another gem of Waller’s ilk, but they might as well try.
