Report: Raiders considering moving on from Derek Carr

This morning, Jason La Canfora published a story suggesting that the Raiders could be moving on from Derek Carr.

The mercurial quarterback has been the subject of much scrutiny over the years, and according to La Canfora, “several sources close to Gruden expect him to dissect the 2020 quarterback class and explore options to perhaps upgrade at the most critical position in the game.”

This would be a major development for the Raiders, considering that Gruden has been consistent in his support of the mercurial quarterback.

With ample draft capital, the Raiders are in a great position to trade up and grab a top tier signal called like Justin Herbert or Tua Tagovailoa if they fall in love with one. They could also go after free agent quarterbacks who may be available, such as Teddy Bridgewater, Ryan Tannehill, or even Jameis Winston.

None of those names seem like major upgrades, but the Raiders could snag a bridge quarterback like Chase Daniel, Case Keenum, Colt McCoy, or even Eli Manning while trying to groom a young draft pick.

We’ll be profiling all of the Raiders major quarterback options in detail later this week. But as of right now, what course of action would you like to see the Raiders take at quarterback?
