Sunday is here and the early game slate promises to have a couple hotly contested matchups.
The 49ers and Saints play at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in a matchup of 10-2 teams that could very well be a playoff preview. The Saints are favored by two, but that one should be a back-and-forth affair between two of the league’s best squads.
The 9-3 Bills and 10-2 Ravens have an AFC showdown that will feature the most combined quarterback rushing yards entering the game of any in NFL history. Despite their 9-3 record, the Bills only win over an opponent currently above .500 game in a 14-7 triumph over the Titans.
After Buffalo trounced the Cowboys on Thanksgiving, it is fair to question whether they’ve arrived at the doorstep of Super Bowl contention or if that sentiment is premature. The Ravens will be the ideal test considering that many think of them as the best team in the NFL right now.
Other games of note inclue the 6-6 Colts against the 5-7 Buccaneers, the 8-4 Texans against a 4-8 Broncos squad that will have Von Miller back in the fold, and the 4-8 Chargers taking on the 4-8 Jaguars in a game between the Raiders next two regular season foes.
Here’s your open game thread, ya’ filthy animals.
