With both Josh Jacobs and Trent Brown out for today’s game against the Titans, the Raiders may have a tough time keeping up with Tennessee on offense.
Jacobs has been the heartbeat of the offense and his running back role will be filled by a combination of Jalen Richard DeAndre Washington and Alec Ingold. His absence will force head coach Jon Gruden to get more creative with the offensive scheme as Jacobs has been relied on heavily. Washington is expected to get the start at running back, while Brandon Parker will start at right tackle.
Ian Rapoport reported that Jacobs is set to have an MRI later this week.
If the Raiders lose this game, they may be more cautious with the 1,000-yard rusher for the rest of the season as their playoff chances will drop exponentially.
The Raiders offense will have their backs against the wall with Jacobs, Brown and Hunter Renfrow all inactive. Derek Carr has an opportunity to prove he could put the team on his back when it matters most and silence the doubters. Will he wilt or step up to the challenge?
