Well, that was a thing that happened. The Patriots lead the Rams, 3-0 at the end of the first half in Super Bowl 53, marking the lowest-scoring first half in a Super Bowl since Super Bowl 9.
The Rams offense has been putrid, doing nothing whatsoever against a Patriots defense which looks inspired. However, the Patriots haven’t been able to do much either, only scoring three points and missing a field goal early in the game. The Rams defense has been playing tough, even if they don’t realize Julian Edelman exists because they haven’t bothered to cover him yet,
The Rams have been able to get into the backfield and have gotten to Brady, who has responded by resorting to his usual trick of quick screens and dump-offs. The Rams haven’t let that kill them quite yet.
If the Rams want to win this game, they absolutely have to string together better drives. Going three and out isn’t an option once the Pats wake up. Can they do it? We’ll find out.
Enjoy the rest of the game!
