Saturday the latest new football league will kick off, trying to fill the void in the NFL offseason. It’s the Alliance of American Football and it will allow those who wish to still play football without going to Canada a chance to keep playing and perhaps show the NFL they deserve a real shot.
Among those who will take the field include many former Raiders, some who were with the team just last year. There are also a few coaches who were former Raiders. I counted a total of 18 former Raiders among the rosters and staffs of the eight teams in the league.

The first game will take place Saturday February 9 at 5pm featuring the San Diego Fleet vs the San Antonio Commanders. Oddly enough the two non-Bay Area cities the Raiders were once discussing playing their home games in 2019.
Also playing at 5pm Saturday will be the Orlando Apollos vs Atlanta Legends.
So, if you just can’t wait until next August to get your football fix, this is your opportunity.
