Raiders 2019 pre-draft tracker: Interviews, workouts, meetings, analysis, and more

New, comments
NFL: Combine Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

This year the Raiders staff has a distinct advantage in meeting draft prospect; the coached the Senior Bowl. Being the coach of the North squad offered Gruden and his staff the ability to meet a lot of prospects up close and personal.

You can see the full list of players on the North squad here.

Senior bowl standouts include QB Daniel Jones, WR Andre Isabella, WR Terry McLaurin, WR Keelan Doss, OT Chuma Edoga, OT Dolton Risner, OG Chris Lindstrom, OG Beau Benzschawel, C Garrett Bradbury, DT Khalen Saunders, S Nasir Adderly, and Charles Omenihu.

If they met a prospect in Senior Bowl practices, they might not need to meet with them again if they didn’t want to. For that reason the Raiders focused mostly on juniors at the scouting combine.

Report

Scouting Combine

Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State

Height: 6-3, Weight: 231

2018 total: 4831 passing yards, 50 TD’s, 8 Int

Gruden had some high praise for Haskins, saying “He’s a big guy, you feel his presence when he walks in a room. He’s a really calm, cool customer...”

Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma

Height: 5-10, Weight: 207

2018 total: 4361 passing yards, 42 TD’s, 7 int, 1001 rushing yards, 12 rushing TD’s

Gruden said of Murray “I don’t know what the physical concerns are. Are you talking about the height? I think that’s been proven to not be as much a factor as maybe it was years ago. If you ask Russell Wilson or [Drew] Brees, or the kid in Cleveland, I don’t know that it’s a true impact on the position or the performance.”

D.K. Metcalf, WR, Mississippi

Height: 6-3, Weight: 228

2018 total: 7 games, 26 catches, 569 receiving yards, 5 TD’s

Gruden said of Metcalf “He’s the biggest wide out I’ve ever seen. You have to ask yourself, who is tackling this guy?... This guy is really put together, but he shows good elusiveness, good change of direction and I think he is healthy. I think he has been cleared medically which is the number one thing we wanted to find out.”

Marquise Brown, WR, Oklahoma

Height: 5-9, Weight: 166

2018 total: 12 games, 1318 receiving yards, 10 TD’s

Had Lisfranc foot surgery this offseason that has him missing combine workouts, but he was in attendance for interviews and measurements. He will miss his pro day and all offseason activities, but is expected to be ready by training camp. He is considered arguably the top receiver in this class, but the injury might have him drop some.

A.J. Brown, WR, Mississippi

Height: 6-0, Weight: 226

2018 total: 12 games, 85 catches, 1320 receiving yards, 6 TD’s

Deebo Samuel, WR, South Carolina

Height: 5-11, Weight: 214

2018 total: 12 games, 62 catches, 882 receiving yards, 11 TD’s

Lamont Gaillard, C, Georgia

Height: 6-2, Weight: 305

Three-year starter for the Bulldogs. Played guard his first two seasons at Georgia before switching to center the past two seasons, starting every game.

Nick Bosa, DE, Ohio State

Height: 6’3”, Weight: 266

Bosa has long been considered the top overall prospect in the 2019 Draft class. He is the younger brother of Chargers star Joey Bosa.

Quinnen Williams, DT, Alabama

Height: 6-3, Weight: 303

Rashan Gary, ED, Michigan

Height: 6-4, Weight: 277

Brian Burns, OLB, Florida State

Montez Sweat, ED, Mississippi State

Height: 6-5, Weight: 260

Jachai Polite, ED, Florida

Height: 6-4, Weight: 264
