Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock continue their wheeling and dealing, adding more cap space and getting back a fifth-round pick by trading Pro Bowl guard Kelechi Osemele to the New York Jets.
Not curious about terms anymore. The #Raiders will get a fifth-round pick for Osemele. Along with Osemele, the Jets get the Raiders sixth-round pick through Chicago. Considering they were considering releasing Osemele, a fifth better than nothing.

The Raiders have no dead money from trading Osemele, but will gain $10M in cap space from this move in addition to getting back a fifth-rounder. The Raiders sent a fifth and third-rounder to the Steelers for WR Antonio Brown just yesterday, so this move gets back a little bit of draft capital.
Osemele has dealt with some injuries in the last year and his performance has declined, but when healthy he is still a force to be reckoned with and will be a challenge to replace for the Raiders through free agency or the Draft. Oakland already has questions at the tackle spot, and now they’ll have to find a new guard as well.
