The top defenders are flying off the board fast now. As are former Patriots. Earlier today, they saw Trent Brown get record money from the Raiders after a one-year rental, and now they are watching pass rusher Trey Flowers fly to Detroit.
The #Lions are expected to sign another former #Patriot, this time pass-rusher Trey Flowers, source confirms (as @AdamSchefter reported). It’s a 5-year deal. Should be more than $16M or $17M.

Assuming Rapoport means $16-$17 million per season, that would be a 5-year, $80-$85 million deal for Flowers.
The 25-year-old is considered the top pass rusher on the market. Or he was. Others still out there to be had (and this could change quickly) include Za’Darius Smith, Preston Smith, Ezekiel Ansah, Dante Fowler Jr, Chris Long, and Michael Johnson.
No team in the league is more desperate for pass rush than the Raiders. The draft will likely not be enough for them to fill their immediate need, so signing a good one in free agency is key.
All the truly top pass rushers who were headed for free agency were kept off the market with franchise tags. So, the Raiders better get on it.
